and Belong - Choosing the name and logo: GLOBAL IDEA SCHOOL

Approval
- November 30, 2018, Global Idea School was approved as a non-profit organization by the State of Washington on November 30, 2018.
2019 -2020 Ready to Begin
- The need to fully incorporate social-emotional skills with a hands-on approach to education as the basis of high-standard academics
- First year of Giving Thanks Celebration
- After School Program begins
2020 -2021 The Pandemic… and We Survived
TK – 1st grade
- 21 students
- 8 teachers: English, Spanish, Math, Music, Art, Computer Science, Círculo Mágico, T. A.
- TK (Transitional Kinder) and 1st grade added
- COVID Pandemic year: As authorized, GIS continued to offer in-person education as well as home education through ‘Teams’
2021 -2022 Learning and Expanding
TK – 2nd grade
- 27 students, 11 teachers
April, 2022. First Move-A-Thon, a yearly fundraiser
2022 – 2023 In a New Campus
TK – 3rd grade
- 32 students and 13 teachers
- June, 2023. Our first all-school play “Mary Poppins”
- Initiation of ‘Special Interest Week,’ an all-school yearly event
- First year of Learning Journey Exhibit
2023 -2024 Consolidating Time
TK – 4th grade
- 43 students, 14 teachers
- January, 2024 3rd & 4th Sleepover Field Trip at Islandwood, Bainbridge Island
- May, 2024. First G.I.S STEAMS Fair
- June, 2024. All School Play: “The Wind and the Willows”
- Initiation of “World Celebrations & Holiday Monthly Snack,” an all-school program
