Ángela Alfonso

Co-Teacher Spanish TK/K

Angela was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from Universidad del Bosque. She brings more than 25 years of teaching experience, with a strong emphasis on literacy development in Spanish. For the past eight years, she has shared her passion for the Spanish language and culture with children from diverse backgrounds at Sponge School.

She is deeply committed to helping young learners develop reading and writing skills, creating joyful and engaging classrooms through music, movement, and creative play Her teaching philosophy is grounded in kindness, trust, and fostering each child’s curiosity and confidence.

Before moving with her family to Sammamish, Washington, Angela lived in Dubai for three years. Beyond the classroom, Angela enjoys spending time outdoors, caring for nature, and advocating for animal protection. She also loves traveling, exploring different cultures, and bringing a global perspective into her teaching.
