Math Teacher TK/K & 4th Grade
Javiera holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary School Education with a specialization in Learning Difficulties from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She has several years of experience teaching in bilingual schools in Santiago, Chile. Having moved to different countries during her childhood, she was raised with a global perspective. She is grateful for the outlook this gave her and values the wealth of experiences it brings to her students and the school community as a whole.
She has served as head teacher for grades 3 through 5 and taught math in 6th grade. She enjoys witnessing the growth that comes from children acquiring new skills and the confidence they gain through their individual journeys. She believes that a child’s socioemotional well-being is essential to academic growth and strives to ensure students have a supportive day-to-day experience in the classroom.
Javiera lives on the Eastside with her husband and two children. She enjoys nature walks and reading, and she loves visiting local independent bookstores wherever she goes. She is always on the lookout for a good picture book to add to her collection.
