At Global Idea School, learning goes beyond the classroom, and Special Interest Week is a wonderful example of that!
This year, students across all grade levels explored a wide variety of fascinating topics, discovering new interests and learning from special guest speakers who generously shared their knowledge, skills, and passions.
From the skeletal system and the world of nursing to fencing, entrepreneurship, origami, 3D modeling and animation, clocks, and music, there was something new and exciting to discover around every corner. Each experience offered students an opportunity to explore unfamiliar subjects, ask questions, develop new skills, and see the world from different perspectives.
One of the highlights of the week was a walk to a local Mexican bakery, where students had the opportunity to experience the beautiful tradition of a Día de los Muertos altar. This cultural experience offered a meaningful opportunity to connect learning with traditions, creativity, and the richness of our diverse community.
Special Interest Week reflects what we value deeply at G.I.S.: hands-on learning, curiosity, meaningful connections, and the joy of discovering something unexpected. By learning from people with different experiences and passions, students are encouraged to explore their own interests while developing an appreciation for the knowledge and perspectives of others.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone in the G.I.S. community who shared their time, knowledge, and passions to make this week possible. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped create a truly inspiring experience for our students!
At G.I.S., every new discovery is an opportunity to learn, grow, and imagine what is possible.
