Emily Frisk

English Teacher TK/K & 3rd/4th Grade

Elmily Frisk grew up near Chicago, Illinois before moving to Germany to finish high school and later attending university in Austria.  After several years in Vienna, she returned to the U.S., finally settling in Washington in 2015. Her Washington State Teaching license is in Elementary and Special Education and she also has a BA in German Studies.

One of Emily’s core commitments lies in integrating subjects to form a cohesive and cross-disciplinary curriculum. She values the importance of critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity in education and strives to foster these skills in her students.

Emily’s teaching approach revolves around hands-on, engaging activities that not only enhance understanding, but also make learning a joyous and meaningful experience for her students. Emily’s teaching philosophy centers on promoting STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Her commitment to nurturing a growth mindset and empathy in students is evident in her work with Girls Rock Math, a program aimed at reducing the gender gap in STEM fields. 

She shares her home in Bothell with her partner and his two daughters. Together, they enjoy traveling, attending concerts, and cooking. She also enjoys skiing and hiking as solo pursuits.
